Time was of the essence in these rescues in Ukraine. First, emergency workers rush to a local pond in Volochysk where passersby had spotted a boy stuck in icy waters. He had been walking on the frozen pond with another boy. About 65 feet from shore, the ice broke beneath them, resulting in an icy dunk. The second boy was able to get out, leaving the first behind.
