A man from Grand Rapids, Michigan asked a geology faculty member at Central Michigan University to take a look at the big rock he had been using for a doorstop and occasionally lending to children for show-and-tell. The rock turned out to be a more than 22-pound meteorite potentially worth $100,000! The man had an inkling that it was a meteorite after receiving it from a farmer 30 years ago, but CMU was able to confirm it. Please never use that as a doorstop again!
