In a small town on the outskirts of the Indian capitol, Ramajit Raghav became the father of his second son, and probably the oldest man in the world to father a child. At 50 years old, his wife gave birth to this miracle child on October 5. Raghav credits his celibate life for his current vitality, saying he did not take any aphrodisiacs. He said he was celibate his entire life, until he met his wife 10 years ago. The newborn is in good health, with no obvious signs that his parents age is unusual.

A 97-year-old Ukrainian woman fell from a fourth story window as she cleaned it and would have tumbled to her death if not for an air conditioning unit attached to the ledge. The woman was able to grab onto the unit and put a leg through a gap, which allowed her to hang on for nearly thirty minutes until the fire department was able to come to her rescue.
